We are pleased to announce that To Germany, With Love (retitled The Worst Thing) has been awarded a post-production grant by the New York State Council on the Arts. This grant will allow us to hire editor Nyneve Laura Minnear and get the film closer to completion. Thank you NYSCA!
We have great news for the end of 2016! Nyneve Laura Minnear has come on board as consulting editor for To Germany, With Love. Nyneve was a Sundance Documentary Edit Story Lab Fellow in 2014 as the editor for the acclaimed documentary (T)ERROR which went on to win a Special Jury Award at Sundance 2015, and a Grand Jury Award at Full Frame 2015. “GIRL WITH BLACK BALLOONS” (Editor, Writer, Co-Producer, 59mins) was chosen “Best of Fest” at the Edinburgh Film Festival 2010 and won a Grand Jury Prize at DOCNYC2011. “THE LULU SESSIONS” (Editor, Writer, Co-Producer, 84mins), has screened at over 20 festivals worldwide, winning six Best Documentary awards. In 2011, Nyneve was named one of “21 Leaders for the 21st Century” by Women’s eNews for her work at Dan Rather Reports. We look forward to working with Nyneve in distilling the essence of the story we are telling in To Germany, With Love.
To Germany, With Love director Desireena Almoradie was awarded an Artist As Activist travel and research grant by the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation. Through this grant Des was able to attend the European Film Market at the 2015 Berlinale, and most importantly, she connected with our newest team member, restorative justice facilitator Annett Zupke.
